SAFF continues its partnership with Capitol Hill Associates (CHA) lobbyists Sam Walseth and Nick Zerwas to advocate for fair and equitable school funding at the Minnesota Capitol.
As we prepare for the 2027 Legislative Session, SAFF remains focused on advancing Education Equalization Credits (EEC) to provide property tax relief and reduce funding disparities among Minnesota school districts.

All school funding is not created equal.
- State funding has not kept pace with rising costs, unfunded mandates, and growing expectations.
- More than 70% of school districts rely on school levies to make up for inadequate state funding.
- The disparity in voter-approved revenue ranges from $0 to over $2,929 for districts non-eligible for sparsity revenue per pupil, leaving many students without the educational opportunities they need and deserve.
